Terms of Use

These terms apply to the Acrylate Scanner website and app. By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What the Service Does

The scanner reads an ingredient list you paste or photograph and flags the ingredients it recognises as acrylates. It is an information tool for people managing an acrylate allergy — it is not a medical device, it does not give medical advice, and its results are not a diagnosis.

Ingredient lists change, labels can be misread, and no automated check is complete. Always read the current ingredient list on the product itself, and talk to a dermatologist or doctor about your own situation.

Your Account

You can use the scanner without an account. If you create one, it is for your personal use: keep your sign-in details to yourself and let us know if you think someone else has access to your account.

Fair Use

Every account has a daily scan allowance, shown on the pricing page. Because each scan costs us real money to run, we also apply short-term rate limits so that no single account can absorb the capacity everyone else depends on. If you reach one of those, you are asked to wait a moment; it does not use up any of your daily scans.

We may slow down, suspend or end access to accounts that go well beyond normal personal use — for example by automating or scripting requests, scraping the service, sharing or reselling access, running it on someone else's behalf at scale, or working around the limits described above. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will contact you first.

Premium Subscriptions

Premium is a monthly subscription, billed in advance through Stripe at the price shown when you subscribe. You can cancel at any time from your profile; your Premium features stay active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and it does not renew after that.

We may change prices or what Premium includes. Existing subscribers are told in advance, and a price change only takes effect at the start of a new billing period.

Availability and Liability

The service is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every acrylate in a product will be identified. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions you make based on a scan result.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the service develops. The current version is always on this page, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
